What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The Eastern Orthodox religious tradition prescribes periods of four to seven weeks’ fasting before Christmas and Easter during which only vegan food is to be consumed. In other words, these are periods when all those who fast in order to cleanse body and soul actually follow a vegan diet. Recently, many people have taken up fasting primarily for health reasons. I follow these fasts every year and that was the inspiration for my book.
