How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The Benefits Of Protein
Protein is an important component of every cell in the body. Hair and nails are mostly made of protein. Your body uses it to build and repair tissues, make enzymes, hormones and other body chemicals. Protein is an important building block of bones, cartilage, skin, muscles and blood.
Along with fat and carbohydrates, protein is a “macronutrient,” meaning that the body needs relatively large amounts of it.
Vitamins and minerals, which are needed in only small quantities, are called “micronutrients.” But unlike fat and carbohydrates, the body does not store protein, and therefore has no reservoir to draw on when it needs a new supply.
When people hear ‘protein’ and ‘exercise’ in the same sentence, they are most likely to conjure up images of bodybuilders using protein bars and milkshakes in order to maximize their workout.
Protein is important for anyone who is going to the gym, playing sports, going for runs or doing any other form of workout
To put it simply, protein is one of the main nutrients that every person needs to maintain a healthy body. It helps to repair any internal or external damage, supports the immune system and contributes to an overall feeling of wellbeing.
At a cellular level, proteins are used for just about everything, from transporting messages, carrying out the instructions of DNA and defending, preserving and repairing essential life functions
Where does protein come from?
Protein comes from a variety of sources, including meat, milk, fish, soy, eggs, beans, legumes, and nut butters. When proteins are digested, they leave behind amino acids, which the human body needs to break down food.
Whey, a high quality protein source naturally found in milk, is a complete protein and contains all of the amino acids your body needs. In general, proteins derived from animal sources (i.e. milk, eggs & meat) are complete, but your body’s ability to use the protein varies. This is why getting your proteins in a natural way is better.
