What inspired you to write your book?
As a retired chef, living in Mexico most of the year it was only natural that I would end up in the kitchens of friends and family, learning how they prepare the many wonderful dishes they offer at the table. It wasn’t long before I noticed that the salsas offered changed as the main course changed. I started collecting the different recipes and it was not long before a book developed where I could share the recipes with others who love Mexican food.
About your Book:
In Mexico, salsa is present on the table at every meal throughout the day. As the meal changes from breakfast to the final meal of the day, the salsa or salsas will often change. Depending on what is being served and how it is cooked, the salsa can be hot, spicy, sweet, mild and many areas in between.
This book is a collection of recipes for 25 Mexican Salsas that are easy to make as well as the nutritional value of many of the fruits and vegetables used to make these salsas.

Sample Recipe or Food Advice
Cooking and enjoying Mexican food is an adventure that can continue for a life time. Each state in Mexico can make an item that bares the same name but will contain different ingredients, using what is locally grown. If you really enjoy Mexican food, start small and build a large selection of items you truly enjoy. It will not take long before you can whip out a meal that will have your friends and family asking for your “secret recipes”

How do you see writing a food/cookbook as different from writing other genres of books?
A cook book, to be a true cook book should not be a list of items purchased in cans and mixed together. It should contain fresh foods as much as possible so that the true flavors can be enjoyed as they were meant to be when the first cook created the dish. Remaining true to the original recipe can require a good deal of research so it must be a labor of love.
Advice to someone that is thinking about or currently working on a food book or cookbook
If you are going to write a food book or cook book pick a subject that you love. In my case it is Mexican Food. Share more than just a recipe, let the reader know a little about how you come to enjoy this food item or how and when you serve it. In other words share a little of yourself in each book
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I have been publishing books on kindle for a couple of years. It is very easy to get started publishing using Amazon’s program. I like the KDP program and at the moment this is the only place that I offer my books. However, expanding is part of my plan and I do hope to be offering the books through other outlets by the end of the year.

He enjoys writing and compiles his Mexican cookbooks with recipes directly from what he has learned while actually cooking with these people in their kitchens.
