After more than 30 years, Throovest finally spills the beans on his mysteriously hot chilli sauce. It is truly legendary. When he made a cauldron full for the Birmingham Film Festival, back in the 1980s, and a famous Indian film producer came to the Lord Mayor’s reception, Ranjit asked if the Chilli was vegetarian. When he was assured that it was, he – together with wife and 11 children – completely demolished the lot. He later told the catering team that it was the best chilli he had witnessed.
